“For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.”
–Philippians 3:18 -
Paul’s sentiments to the church in Philippi are a constant reminder to me of the stark reality in which we live. The founder of Young Life, Jim Rayburn, once prayed: “Our hearts ache for the millions of young people who remain untouched by the Gospel and for the tragically large proportion of those who have dropped by the wayside and find themselves without spiritual guidance.”
It is this aching of the heart that drive us to earn the right to share the Gospel with middle school & high school students, our Capernaum friends with disabilities, and teen moms that our YoungLives mentors love and serve. Society tells us that this is the most connected generation that has ever lived, unfortunately statistics tell us that this the most lonely generation that has ever lived. As we enter the world of adolescents, we often get a glimpse of the loneliness and brokenness that permeates their world.
This reality continues to hit me hard; it has opened my eyes to see that what we do is so very vital. What we are offering kids is something so different, something so unbelievable — almost to the point they cannot even understand how much the God of the universe loves them. He is offering kids LIFE and LIFE to the FULLEST.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support. We already have so many reasons to celebrate as several students have begun a relationship with Christ this semester.
We are so very thankful for the relationship between C3 and Young Life. Wherever you find high school & middle school students, teen moms, and students with special needs we hope you also get a picture of Young Life here in the Ohio Valley.
God Bless,
