Friends at C3,

We have been in the Mid-Ohio Valley helping to start Young Life here since August.  Young Life's mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in the their faith.  There are 10 high schools within 25 miles of Parkersburg that do not have Young Life and Parkersburg South HS and Parkersburg HS combined have over 3,000 students. Wood Co. has one of the highest rates of overdose in the state.

We are currently working to build local ownership and have several new folks on committee.  We have club at Parkersburg South High School.  It is one of the most unique clubs in the country because we meet during activity period at school.  We cram 65 kids into a classroom on Fridays and do all of the crazy games and give a club talk.

Andrew is in Kindergarten and wrestled this winter (which is a big deal in this area!).  Next week will be the anniversary of our trips to China.  Eliana will have been with us a whole year, and it will mark 4 years with Andrew.  C3 was so supportive in our adoption efforts.  Thanks!

We miss C3 and our friends in Wheeling, but it's exciting to be a part of what God is doing here. The other day at track practice there was a shooting a few blocks away.  When we heard what was going on and that the police hadn't captured everyone involved, we got all of the kids in the locker room and hunkered down until it was safe.  It was a small picture of what we do in Young Life.  We enter into kids' worlds, warn them of a danger that they might not know, and point them to where they can find refuge.  Thank you for helping us go after kids for Christ!

Blessings,

believer...doubter...skeptic

Doubt is natural… Believers need to wrestle with the same questions that skeptics ask. Many believers "inherited" their faith and may have never asked these questions. Both doubters and believers have a moral and intellectual responsibility to examine their doubts and beliefs. C3 is a place that encourages this to happen. Learn more
