Easter Sunday: A few simple ways to welcome our guest
Posted: April 14, 2017, 3:12AM
Hello C3,
Easter Sunday is just a few days away! We hope that you all have intentionally invited a few people who you know don’t have a local church. If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late. Right now, think about who you can invite and give them a call or send them a text message letting them know that we have three Easter services, 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am. Share with them which one you are attending and ask them to join you!
A lot of our guests will step into a church service for the first time (or for the first time in a long time). Here are a few simple ways that we can make sure our guest feel welcomed and that they will consider coming back the following Sunday;
1. Leave the parking spaces closest to the entrances for our guests, expectant mothers, and senior adults.
We are asking our volunteer teams to park across the street and in the back lot. Will you consider doing the same thing? This is a simple way that we can honor our guests by leaving the closest spaces open for visitors. This also will ensure that senior adults, expectant mothers, and families with younger children will not have as far to walk. For those with families, consider letting your family out at the door and parking in the back lot. If your family likes you, they may even save you a seat! For those who do park in the back, if you don’t like to walk, you can jump on a golf cart that one of our guest service members will be driving.
2. Fill the seats at the front of the worship center first when you enter and scoot in!
We all run behind schedule at times for various reasons. Late comers and guests do not like to parade before everyone on their way to find a seat. If you fill the seats up front (and scoot in toward the middle), then visitors and late comers can slip in without having to walk in front of the entire crowd. It also makes it easier for them to find a seat.
Right or wrong, our guest will form an opinion about our church within the first few minutes after they arrive. Our guest service members will (as always) open doors, welcome guest and point them the right way etc. You are helping us make our guests experience as positive as possible by doing these few simple things this Easter Sunday (and every other Sunday) and they can make a big difference! Thank you for intentionally inviting those who don’t have a local church, and for living out our core value “it’s not about us.” Begin praying now for the services, for the message, and for all of our guest as together we celebrate Christ resurrection and share with one another the good news that truly does change everything!
See you Sunday,
Pastor Adam Mick
