MINISTRY TEAMS

Building & Finance Team

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also .
Luke 12:34

The Building & Finance Team is responsible for handling the financial matters of the church and issues relating to current and future building concerns. A subgroup of this team volunteers as handymen to assist with minor repairs, so additional hands are always welcome.

In addition, the members of this team are willing to share their expertise and experience with members of the C3 family who need advice on financial matters such as buying a new home/car or managing your personal finances in a Christian way.

Contact Finance@C3Wheeling.org if you would like to talk to someone about financial issues or if you have gifts that could be used as a member of this team.

Children’s Ministries Team

Jesus said, "Let the children come to me."
Matthew 19:14

The Children’s Ministries Team plans, organizes, and staffs programs and events for children from birth – 5 th grade. This includes nursery care, Children’s Church, and Community Groups (Sunday School) on Sunday, as well as special events throughout the year. Adults with a heart for children are always needed to work with this team to help grow and improve our children’s programs. You can become part of the team, or just volunteer to help with one event. Won’t you consider sharing your time and talents with the children of C3?

For more information, e-mail Children@C3Wheeling.org.

Helping Hands

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
Colossians 3:23

Helping Hands is the ministry team that is called upon, when needed, to lend a "helping hand" to the other ministries in the church.  Although often invisible, the work they do in invaluable to the smooth operation of the church. No special skills are required; just a willingness to gather and fellowship while offering your "helping hands" to do work for the Lord.

Some examples of the kinds of work done by this group include folding bulletins, labeling mass mailings, punching out invitation cards, bundling door hangers, collating directories, cutting out Sunday School materials, and binding study guides.

If you have some free time on an as-needed basis and would like to enjoy the company of other servants, Helping Hands welcomes you to join them. Contact HelpingHands@C3Wheeling.org and let us know you’re willing to lend a hand.

Hospitality Team

Offer hospitality to one another.
I Peter 4:9

The Hospitality Team provides refreshments during our fellowship time following worship and assists with special events. There is always a need for more people who are willing to bring refreshments and help with set-up and cleanup. If you have a gift for cooking, baking, or serving others, please share them with us all through the Hospitality Team. Contact Hospitality@C3Wheeling.org to volunteer to bring refreshments.

Communication & Outreach Team

The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.
Acts 13:49

The Communication & Outreach Team consists of creative minds using media in new and inspired ways to reach out to the C3 family and communicate the Word of God to non-believers. This team is responsible for advertising, press coverage, visitor materials, C3 clothing & gear, and holiday outreach efforts through newspapers, banners, billboards, printed materials, mass mailings, e-mail, and the C3 website. Its goal is to keep close contact with the C3 family and to reach others for Christ. Contact Communications@C3Wheeling.org to share your “gift of gab” for God!

Mercy / Church Team

Show mercy and compassion to one another.
Zachatiah 7:9

The Mercy / Church Team exists to serve members of the C3 family in time of need. If you or someone in your family is ill, hospitalized, has a new baby, etc., the team would like to help by bringing meals, visiting you at home or in the hospital, or providing other help that you may need. The team also prepares and serves memorial meals after funeral services.

If there is a need, please contact the church office or MercyChurch@C3Wheeling.org. We’d rather hear about something multiple times than not know about someone who needs help, so don’t be shy about calling!

People who have a gift for this type of ministry are also encouraged to join the team.

Mercy / Outreach Team

The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:40

The purpose of the Mercy / Outreach Team is to love, minister, and support the hungry, poor, sick, imprisoned, and hurting people of the world, in the name of Jesus Christ, to glorify God and proclaim the gospel. The team leads various outreach projects during the year including Adopt-a-Student, Compassion International, Operation Christmas Child, the Soup Kitchen of Wheeling, Christmas food boxes, and many others.

If you have a heart for helping others and leading C3 to be a compassionate, caring congregation, then this is the team for you. Contact MercyOutreach@C3Wheeling.org.

Music & Creative Arts Team

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!
Psalm 100:1-2

The Music & Creative Arts team uses individual gifts and abilities to unite the body of Christ in corporate worship. In addition to musicians, this group also includes those with skills in sound engineering, lighting, graphic arts, drama, and videography. The team participates in all Sunday worship services and special services throughout the year and practices one week night and early Sunday morning.

Those who are called to use their musical or technical gifts to bring glory to God through worship should contact Music@C3Wheeling.org.

Prayer Team

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

The Prayer Ministry team serves Covenant Community Church by:

  • Providing an e-mail prayer chain for concerns and prayer requests
  • Holding a prayer time @ 9:00 am every Sunday to lift up all aspects of the service before the throne of the God
  • Offering a time after the service for one-on-one prayer for anyone who has need.

The team works closely with the Mercy / Church team to provide both physical and spiritual help for those in need. To make a prayer request, call the church (304-238-0018) at any time (select #5 on voice mail) or send an e-mail to Prayer@C3Wheeling.org. Both are monitored regularly.

People who have a gift for this type of ministry are encouraged to join the team. This is a ministry you can perform from home, work, or wherever you are.

Small Groups Team

For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.
Matthew 18:20

The Small Groups team is leading the charge of moving C3 from a church WITH small groups to becoming a church OF small groups.

There is room on the team for anyone who has a passion to see C3 live out biblical community. The team has responsibility for supporting, training, and growing C3’s small groups network and the small groups themselves. Organizers, coaches, trainers, planners, and good listeners are needed. A prior positive experience in a small group is a plus. Prior group leadership experience is a big plus.

Contact SmallGroups@C3Wheeling.org if you’d like to join the team or find a small group home.

Special Events Team

Let's have a feast and celebrate!
Matthew 15:23

The Special Events team plans and coordinates picnics, family dinners, Christmas caroling, and other special events during the year. Team members help with planning, set-up, decoration, serving, and clean-up for various programs. Those with a flair for making others feel welcome are encouraged to check out this team by contacting SpecialEvents@C3Wheeling.org.

Yellow Army Team

Welcome [them] as you would welcome me.
Philemon 1:17

The Yellow Army acts as the visible presence of C3 on Sunday mornings and at other events to guide visitors to parking, greet people as they arrive, distribute bulletins, direct people to the nursery, and help guests find seats. This group also does a quick clean-up of the sanctuary after worship services to prepare for the next group coming in. Other roles include answering questions or directing people to the right source for answers. Contact YellowArmy@C3Wheeling.org to extend a hand for God.

Youth & Young Adult Ministries Team

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers
in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
I Timothy 4:12

Those with a heart for teenagers are needed to support the work of the C3 Youth Director in providing engaging programs and events that reach teens. This might include assistance in planning events, preparing food, providing transportation, chaperoning at events, cleaning up, and other needs.

In addition, this team is responsible for developing and offering programs and events for young adults in the C3 family and the community. There is tremendous potential for growth in this area, so those with ideas for young adult ministry are encouraged to step up.

Contact YYA@C3Wheeling.org to join this fun-loving team.
