MEET THE STAFF
PASTOR - Barry L. Taylor (pastor@C3Wheeling.org)
Hailing from southern West Virginia, Barry Taylor accepted Christ as his Savior while in high school. He later graduated from Concord University with a degree in business administration, concentrating his studies in the areas of public administration and political science. While attending college, he led a campus Bible study and taught a Sunday school class for youth in his local church. Answering the call to pastoral ministry, Barry attended Asbury Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. He received additional training in the areas of church planting, evangelism in Appalachia, and congregational stewardship.
Prior to joining the C3 staff in 2008, Barry spent 14 years in full-time congregational ministry, serving as both a pastor and a minister of evangelism. During that time he participated in various prison and hospice ministries as a volunteer chaplain. He has been certified as both a small-group leader in Crown Financial Ministries and as a PREPARE/ENRICH premarital and marital counselor. Barry also worked in the Legal Services section of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles for seven years.
His wife, Vickie, teaches at a local Christian school and is a writer. They reside in Wheeling with their son and daughter. CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR - Catherine H. Pavlock (office@C3Wheeling.org)
A native of Pennsylvania, Cathy Pavlock graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in industrial engineering and later earned her Masters in Business Administration degree from Wheeling Jesuit University. Her professional career covers a range of positions including industrial engineer, production control supervisor, assistant professor, business manager, consultant, and small business owner. Feeling a calling to apply her skills and experiences more directly to the work of the Lord, she joined C3 as the church administrator in August 2004.
Having grown up in a Christian family, Cathy says that there has never been a day in her life when she didn’t know Jesus, but at C3 she has found a community of believers who aren’t shy about sharing that fact! She is a charter member of Covenant Community Church and called it her church home long before she called it her job.
Except for a two-year stint in Germany, she has lived in West Virginia since 1980. She has two adult children and a menagerie of pets at home.
DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S AND FAMILY MINISTRIES- Tami Doud (children@C3Wheeling.org)
Tami Doud has a degree from Colorado Christian University with a specialization in youth ministry. She served several years as a volunteer youth leader while in Denver and was on staff at Youth for Christ International. She also has extensive work experience in various administrative positions, as well as teaching preschool and volunteering in children's ministry before joining the C3 staff in 2008.
While her husband was attending graduate school at Columbia International Unversity in South Carolina, Tami was primarily an at-home Mom, but she continued her passion for ministry by serving on the CIU Village Ministry Team, which helped meet the many needs of new and existing student families. She also served as a team leader on the welcome ministry at her church in Columbia for two years.
As an Ohio Valley native, Tami and her husband, Chris, moved back to the area to be near family and brought with them the desire to make an impact for Christ in the Ohio Valley. Chris is a professional counselor, and they live in St. Clairsville, OH with their four children.
DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRIES- Rob Kurth (music@C3Wheeling.org)
Rob Kurth joined C3 as our Celebration Coordinator for Music in 2008. He earned his BM in Music Education from Heidelberg College and a MM in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University. He teachs at Point Park University, directs the men's choir at Duquesne, and sings in the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus.
Rob is joined on the music team by his wife Jana, a keyboard player and vocalist. Rob and Jana were formerly members of C3’s music team, and we are happy to welcome them back.
